Lockers (located inside the fieldhouse)…..$3 small; $5 large. 3-hour rental period. Self-pay kiosks (CC swipe reader only)

No refunds unless ribbon is closed by Ice Ribbon Management – no exceptions will be made

• Everyone planning to ice skate must have a ticket for a specific skating session.
• Rental Skate Sizes: child size 8 through adult size 15, there are NO half sizes.
• Please Note: Session Capacity is limited. A select number of reservation types is available. If your ticket type is unavailable, please check back to see if spots open. Tickets will not be made available if one ticket type is sold out.
• During the ticket purchase process please verify the dates, times and session type (With Skate Rental or Bring Your Own) for accuracy. Once a ticket is purchased all refund and transfer policies are in effect. The session date, time and type are displayed throughout the transaction for review.
• Tickets are available for purchase in blocks of up to 10 per transaction. If fewer than 10 tickets remain for a particular option, the remaining quantity will be the maximum number available for selection.
• There is no waitlist. There is no room for walk-up/on-site sales if a ticket type for a session is sold out online.

MDP Ice Ribbon is open unless otherwise announced. MDP Ice Ribbon is an outdoor skating venue that is subjected to the elements of the Chicago Winter and operates through various weather events. Please review weather forecast prior to completing your ticket purchase.

• Based upon current conditions MDP Ice Ribbon management team will make every effort to announce cancellations, at minimum, an hour in advance of sessions.
• In the event the Ribbon is closed, all registered participants for the affected session will be notified via email.
• Cancellations will be posted to MDP website and MDP social media outlets. Please refer to the on-line and social media announcements as staff may not be able to receive calls if they are working on ice preparation.
• In the event that the session you have reserved is cancelled by Management (weather, emergency, safety issues) Maggie Daley Park will process refunds. All refunds may take up to 10 Business Days to process. Refunds due to closures are an automatic system response, you DO NOT need to email us for a refund.

Manage Your Skating Reservation

MDP Ice Skating tickets may be transferred to another date or session time. All updates/changes to tickets must be completed a minimum of 3 days in advance of your ticketed date.
A $3 Charge will be applied to all transferred tickets

Follow the steps below to manage your ticket:

• Log into your Active account @ MyEvents(click link)
• Transfer tickets: same day, different session – click change category
• Transfer tickets: different day – click change event

Additional fees may apply if transferring from sessions with price differences or changing ticket from No Skate Rental to Skate Rental

MDP Ticket Re-Sale or Gifted

Individuals may Gift or Re-Sell their tickets privately by providing the receiving party the confirmation email with the QR Code to present at Check-in. Each QR Code is unique and must be presented as your ticket at check in. There is no Transfer Fee for private transfers.

• Group reservations for groups of 30 or more can be made for ice-skating
• Monday – Thursday, Non-Holiday Group Outings are available for all sessions
• Group Outings are not available during the Holiday Skating Season (December 12 – January 4)
• Holidays and Weekend Group Outings (outside of the Holiday Season) are only available during the 11am Skating Session
• There is not a group discount

• All skaters must be ticketed for a specific session and have a wristband
• Skate carefully at all times
• Follow the instructions of the skate hosts
• Skate only in the direction currently being indicated by the skate hosts
• Speed of skating at all times must equal the flow of all other skaters
• Only people wearing skates are allowed on the ice surface
• You may not bring rental skates from Millennium Park or any other ice-skating facility

The following are not permitted on the ice:

• Skating when ice resurfacing is being completed
• Skating in a manner that endangers of interferes with the enjoyment experienced by other skaters
• Stopping or standing on the ice
• Horseplay, game playing, excessive speed, roughness or skating in a dangerous or potentially dangerous fashion
• Carrying children or secondary items on the ice; handbags, backpacks, cameras, cell phones, portable music players, etc.
• No Strollers on Ribbon
• Jumps, spins, or skating backwards
• Speed Skates (Nordic speed blade skates)
• Double Blade Skates
• Skate Trainer Attachments (training skates for kids)
• Hockey playing
• Eating or drinking
• Throwing snowballs or other objects at any time
• Sitting on or leaning over the railing

​​​​​​Skate sharpening is NOT available onsite

​​​​​​​Skate sizes available are child’s size 8 through men’s size 15, there are NO half sizes.

​​​​​​Figure and hockey skates are available. Figure skates run true to size, hockey skates run about 1 size bigger than your shoe size. If your skates do not fit you can exchange them for another size.

​​​​​​​Yes, skate assist sleds are available for use by skaters with physical disabilities and their companion skater based on availability.

​​​​​​NO, only rental skates from Maggie Daley Park are allowed on the Ice Ribbon. Renting skates from a different facility and bringing them here is not considered your own skates.
