Rollerblade and Scooter Rules & Regulations
- Children must meet size, age and physical appropriateness to maintain control of scooters and/or rollerblades
- Children must be supervised by parent/guardian at all times while scooting or roller blading
- Pedestrian Skating Ribbon traffic has the right of way. Please be careful of those walking
- Private instruction must obtain a permit through the Chicago Park District
- Use caution if Skating Ribbon is wet. Slick surfaces make it easy for a roller blade or scooter to slide out from under you and cause a fall
- Riders must maintain hold on handlebars of scooters at all times; only one person at a time may ride the scooter
- Never rollerblade or scoot out of control. Stay within your comfort level and don’t take unnecessary risks
- Scooters and rollerblades must remain on the Skating Ribbon and are not permitted outside of Maggie Daley Park or in Play Garden
- Must sign a waiver to rent a scooter or rollerblades and if it’s stolen or returned broken, there will be a $150 replacement fee
- The Skating Ribbon or potion of the Skating Ribbon, is subject to close at any time due to maintenance, weather, or Chicago Park District programs
